The Origins of BarRoad time
BarRoad time started out as “The Remnants” approximately 7 years ago. After performing a solo for a short while Michael Robert missed the camaraderie and harmonies of a full band. Michael got together with an old friend and club owner from southern California, Steve Bentley and formed the Remnants. Along with Ramone Torres on drums and Dave Van Cleve on lead guitar they performed up and down the Colorado River and Lake Havasu area with great response. As members slowly changed, our drummer became Gary Morris and lead guitar Tommy Thomas and rounding out with John Hill on bass, all with vocals and harmonies.
At this point Michael was the only original Remnant left, so the new members wanted to rename the band and make it their own. The search for a new name began. After kicking possible new names around for a couple of years Michael said one day, “Well, we’re all on borrowed time.” Everyone said, “I like it!” They ran it by their fans and got 100% positive response. Then John said, “Let’s spell it different, Barroad time. Then Gary said, “Let’s capitalize the second r. Hence, BarRoad time was born. (BRT)
Eventually we ended up as we are today. Michael Robert, rhythm guitar, lead and backup vocals. John Hill, bass guitar, lead and backup vocals. Leon Aubert, lead guitar, And recently pulled out of retirement, Michael’s first professional drummer from Ventura California (1983-1985) Bobby Pinger aka, Bobby Big Bucks. So there ya have it!
